Maryland Primary Care and Wellness

Maryland Primary Care and Wellness has been present in the Upper Marlboro, Maryland community for more than eighty years. It was first established by Dr James Sasscer in the early 1930s as a family practice. After several decades of providing medical care to the community he retired and handed over the practice to Dr Arthur Clark Holmes. After over thirty years of faithful service Dr Holmes also retired and the practice was acquired by Dr Alain Champaloux. He in turn has provided excellent and compassionate care to the Prince George's county for twenty seven years and decided to retire in September 2020. Upon his retirement Dr. Albert Takem has taken over the practice with the goal of upholding the legacy of these giants of medicine. Given this long history, we take great pride in providing our community with high quality, patient-centric healthcare. Our doctor and medical staff are here to serve you, so let us know how we can help.

Our Silver Spring location was the medical practice of Dr. Peter B. Sherer for 27 years. After his retirement Dr. Albert Takem took over the practice and renamed it Maryland Primary Care and Wellness. We are pleased to continue providing quality care to residents of Montgomery County in this new location.
